Canary Wharf

Scope of Works

Located on a tight site right in the heart of the bustling Canary Wharf district with restricted access routes, this complex 18-storey project demanded effective planning and programming for a safe and efficient build.

The Challenge

With very limited space to store modules on site, getting the order right was vital to keep the project on track. The location of the site initially meant we were restricted to moving modules at certain times of the day due to the need to close roads but we were able to secure a storage yard close to site.
This allowed us to move more freely and therefore keep the project moving at pace.

This project, which was one of the largest modular schemes being built in the country at the time, is the tallest undertaken by Lift and Locate to date, standing as it does at over 18 storeys. With another contractor programmed to deliver the final floor using traditional methods this project wasn’t without its challenges. This complex and technically challenging project is an excellent example of how Lift and Locate thinks outside the box to find solutions and keep the programme moving.

Boklok

Lift & Locate were contracted to install a 4 storey apartment block in Littlehampton. We arranged for a storage yard closer to the install for the modules to be stored before arriving at site, here we placed a crane and small team to offload and load the modules. The Lift & Locate team were also on site at Littlehampton installing the apartment block, we managed the transport for this, offering the client our full package. Once Littlehampton was installed we moved onto the next project for the client at Fulbeck Avenue.

The Scandinavian style homes for Littlehampton and Worthing are placed within great community spaces offering one and two bedroom apartments for the local community.
